Consuming a Mediterranean diet can help people live longer

The reports are based on a prospective cohort study of 380,296 people aged between 50 and 71 years, who completed a survey of their dietary habits and were then followed-up over a five-year period. The study found that significantly fewer people who most closely followed a Mediterranean-type diet died of cancer, heart disease or all causes, when compared with those who least closely followed such a diet.

To investigate the relationship between adherence to the Mediterranean dietary pattern and mortality in a US population.

The authors concluded that their study provided strong evidence that higher conformity with the Mediterranean dietary pattern is associated with lower all-cause and cause-specific mortality.

@Mediterranean diet, exercise are key to long life

This is a big news for me. Actually, I don't really want to live longer but healthier. So I searched online for what Mediterranean diet is? Then, I got a pyramid, indicates the detail in a picture, it is very useful and memorable. To look through the pyramid below:

@ We need meat just once a month for healthy life. That attracted me a lot. For those cardiac-vascular disease patients, which are caused by meat and related fat, a Mediterranean-style diet is suggested by @ .

Hello. This is an interesting and very true finding. I think it's so much healthier to follow the mediterranean diet. I live in america and find that many people who live in the states, eat way too much saturated fat, which causes them major health problems later on.
